The rumor that Microsoft is bidding on troubled virtual world Second Life just got a bit more interesting. It turns out that Microsoft is the previously unnamed company that acquired Vivaty, a virtual competing with Second Life that went out of business in April. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed but Microsoft definitely paid less than $75 million, according to Microsoft Managing Director of Corporate Development Marc Brown.
Can't really give any details, but at least the cat is out of the bag now.
Which was last NONvivaty version of Flux Studio, and where I can download it - is possible for you to enable here download of this last NONvivaty version of Flux Studio? It is still needed, because it still works on Windows Me, unlike vivaty.

Interesting development considering M$ also picked up Truespace 7 from Caligari and is giving it away. Makes me wonder what M$ has planned or if they have anything planned. Kind of a scattered way of acquiring technology and getting into web 3D, IMO.

I was in a hurry yesterday and without thinking, closed my publication without saving it. In Microsoft Office 2010 it says a temporary version will be created if you click 'no' when it asks to save your work.

Dear Parisi
I hope M$ Planned better things with Vivafy than Caligari, Worldview, MS VRML and others brought.
The real true is no matter what it is but what hands hands it is. A flashlight in a monkey hands is just a hummer.
The fact is you did three or more players since labyrinth while M$ could not finish one of then, make improvements or at least do something good with it.
Since Cosmo appear on my SGI O2, (1996) later on PC , I already modeling and programmed more than five hundred models with interactions for educational
content, many simple others complex.
When Cosmo and others died on the way I always follow you steps, tips, read articles some e-mails and others , maybe this was my luck due in this way I saw
only few survives on this market and technology. Was a hard play ,and still, but until now only two kind still alive, the bigger and smarts, of course
I´m the second one.
I really felt a lot when Vivaty close down due I saw flux born, grow and became great on Net. The first thing became on mind is who is the next
to be squeezed, their codes laid on shelter or server and forgotten until they decide the time is now.
The fact revive on my mind the stereoscopic television the called 3D (hahaha) with shutter glasses (hahaha again), and I open a dust box and show to my daughter
one with more than ten year old, the same technology sell today like innovation. Stereoscopic monitor without glasses hidden from market and costumers until they have next hand.
About you Tony and your mind, the only thing I know and would like say is they have the money, the marketing and many things but you have the brain, the concept and vision
how the things should go but you know. If don’t kill you make you strong. be patient destiny reserve better things!
Great article!!!
All the best
